BEDMAS

Today for math all of us made a DLO BEDMAS or Fractions. I worked out this question 4 squared + 4 x 3 -  20, my answer was 8. I like using BEDMAS because this is a fun way.

Fa'aluma DLO

Today I was working with Mataio on this DLO about Fa'aluma witch means to embarrasses or make a fool of someone. We had to write our opinion and the meaning of Fa'aluma.

Making Connections

This was based on a book that my group read A Tour Like No Other. I had fun reading this book, and making connections sheet. We had to write Text to text, text to self, Text to world. The most interesting thing about was text to world because I did not know anything that was happening.  

Dance

Today in Dance with Mrs Anderson we learned about the movements free flow and the bound flow. First we practiced our warm up and Mrs Linda, Ma'ata and Magenta volunteered to do their warm up exercises. Their warm was fun. Then we watched a video that explained the free flow and the bound flow. Free flow means moving from the arms and bound flow means moving from the muscle. Then Tiava and I did our Triangle, Circle and Square shapes, I thought that we could do our straight angles sharper. 

E-ako Maths

Today for e-ako maths I practiced place value. I think that this place value task was hard because I need to work on place value. 

World of Maths

On Wednesday year 5, 6, 7 and 8 had the World of Maths with Charles. Charles said of the maths game that we are doing are based on problem solving. In my group was Sylis, Viva, Jonathan and Nyjah. We went to the Birds Eye View game first. In this game we had to put the Red and Yellow shapes to match the board. I felt like this game was the most challenging one for me because the shapes were hard to match on the board. The maths game that I liked the most was string along. String along was fun because we had connect the string from the girl to the boy by using the tiles. 

Est Chunky Challenge

This is my DLO of a est Word Cline. We find words that est at the start of the word, the middle of the word and end of the word. Then we had to make a DLO on the est words we found, and the est words that we know.

Dance

Today for dance, the first that we did a warm up. We also had a look at a video that explained why we need to excising. A warm up is moving you body and stretching your mussels. The main thing that I like was Mrs Anderson having a go. Another thing that I liked today is making your own warm up, that was fun. For next time me and my partner need to practice on timing.

Food tech - Truffle

Today at tech the year 8's made chocolate truffle. I think that it was really nice, I would like to make these again because these taste really nice

Something I have read or watched that is like this is...	Something I know about that is like this is...	My reaction to this story is...
Something that we have read which is similar to this is called the Red Poppy and also Charge of the Light Brigade. We think that these are same because they both include bombs, people getting hurt and also of people dying	North Korea and USA are getting nuclear weapons especially bombs.	We really enjoyed listening to this story and we also feel so sad for the main character's death. We would love to hear more of these stories.

This DLO is made by Sanujan, Joshua w. This was based on the book when the wind blows. I enjoyed doing this making making connection DLO.

Word Cloud

This is a Word Cloud I made on the chunk 'ight'. My group had to find the words with the chuck in it. Then we to a simple sentence, Compound Sentence and Complex Sentence. I think that this was really fun finding new words.

Making Connections

Today I have been practicing making connections. The connections we have have to a text will help us understand the information. There are three types if connections;text to text, text to self and text to world.

Current Events: China Bans Ivory by the end of 2017

China will ban the selling ivory by the end 2017.  We had to read the 5 sources that were provided and fill in the questions. Then we had to write the opinions, and our opinion. Our opinion is we think that people selling ivory should start looking into new jobs so that they are prepared for 2018. I have worked with Oh Hsen to complete this task.

Chunky Challenge 'AKE'

Today my group were finding words that start with ake, in the middle of a word with ake and the end of a word ake. We had to put the words that we found in a word cloud, I have a lot of fun doing this.
