PBS Holiday Blogging challenge - Activity 2 Day 1

For this activity we had to say what's the minimum height for the Stratosphere is, on this site http://rainbowsend.co.nz/rides/categories/thrill-rides/stratosfear it says that the Stratosphere has a very extreme height and the less extreme height restriction. The very extreme height restriction is about 150cm and the less extreme restriction height is about 130cm.

Then we had to say why there was a height restriction? I think that there's is a height restriction because the belt might be loose and you will fall of.

PBS Holiday Blogging Challenge - Day 1 - Activity 1

For this activity I had to find where Rainbow's End is located. Then we had to find how much did it cost to for a family. Then we had to find how much it will cost my family, I think the best price for a family pass is $245.00. This activity was really fun I cannot wait for the next one.

PBS 60th Year Production

To celebrate Panmure Bridge schools 60th year, we had a school production. Every class had one or more dances. In LS2, our three dances are: Stayin' Alive, I See Red and Footloose. I was in the Stayin' Alive group. I also performed with the Pacifica group. Before I went on the stage I was so nuverus because I was running around hyping up the group. I would like to say a big thank you to Zoe for teaching us the dances.

Kiwi Can

Today for Kiwi Can we had different activities. Our energiser was turning something into real life. By that I mean we had an object in the middle and we had to think of things we could do with it, e.g use it as a steering wheel (we had a hula hoop in the middle). Our next activity was tap soccer. We had to tap the ball with our hands and try to get it in the goals. The last activity we did was netball, but there was a twist. We had to make the ball touch the grass before we pass. The game I enjoyed most was tap soccer.

For a few weeks LS2 have been doing scale drawings. I have tried my best and I think, I have done better than last year. This year I think it was easier because I had done a scale drawing last year and I knew how to follow the squares.  I hope next year LS2 does these drawings again because this is a really fun activity.

The Princess Bride - Character Introduction

A couple of weeks ago LS2 were doing media study about the Princess Bride. After we had finished watching the movie and filling out all the sheets we had to make a DLO about one sheets. I chose to do Character Introduction. I found that I really liked Wesley's Introduction because I like that he is the Protagonist.

Tech

On Friday we had tech, the year 8's are having stained glass with Mr Grundy. This week we had to draw our final design and Mr Grundy had to check and see if it's okay. After everyone has finished drawing their final design we got to cut glass, I think this tech rotation stained glass in the hardest because it s hard to cut the glass.

Run Jump Throw with Andy

This week we had Run Jump Throw with Andy. The first activity that we did was warm up game witch was octopus, this game was really fun. Then we went to, how to throw a discuss. This was a little hard most of us who does not like throwing anything. After everyone has had one try at throwing a discuss we then went into, how to throw a shot put. I think that this activity was challenging for most of us because the shot put was really heavy. I would like to say a big thank you to Andy for having us this week for Run Jump Throw. I can not wait for next weeks session.

Today the year 8's, stayed at Tamaki College for an experience day. First we played battle ships in Maths with Mr Jones, that was really fun. Then we went to Science with Mr Stoddard and Mr Singh, they taught us about static energy and we did three experiments. They were really awesome. We then had lunch. I thought that it was really nice that the staff at Tamaki College bought us subway. After lunch we had English with Mr Stevenson, we did a fun activity. We had to find visual images, of the words that we had to remember. Then we went to PE with Mr Moyes, we played turbo touch. That was a really awesome game. I would like to thank the staff at Tamaki College for looking after us.
